Ikarbus to produce 310 buses this year, independent production of low-floor buses

Ikarbus will produce and deliver 310 buses to the market, which represents record production in last 15 years.

Successful operations of this factory were confirmed at the international tender for procurement of 40 buses. Among 8 foreign and 3 domestic manufacturers, Ikarbus’ offer was the best, so that this factory signed the contract worth €5.5m.

General director of Ikarbus, Srećko Nijemčević, says that the big money are invested in development programs. Thanks to that, Ikarbus has organized technology for production of low-floor buses and, for the first time ever, it will be producing single and articulated low-floor buses independently. The buses will be equipped with "Man" engines and they will be sold at price that will be 15 – 20% lower than the price of European manufacturers. These vehicles will be shown to the public next year, at the Automobile Show in Belgrade.
