- Factory of military equipment and arms "Krušik" from Valjevo exported 20.7m USD worth of products in the first half of year 2009, which is 4.3 times more than in the same period in 2008 - said Jovan Davidović, the Director General of the company.
He said to the press that about 75% of that export had been made possible thanks to the deal with Iraq, the contract for which had been signed by the Ministry of Defense of Serbia.
The value of export in May and June amounted to 9.6m USD, said Davidović and added that the contracts for new export deals had been signed since the beginning of year 2009 and that they were not included in the plan for year 2009.
Valjevo's "Krušik" mainly exports mines to Iraq.
Davidović said that "Krušik" had increased production in the first six months of year 2009 by 46% and registered 1.3 billion RSD worth of incomes, which was 3.5 times more than in the same period in 2008.
The CEO of "Krušik" said that the Government of Serbia had given consent to company "Jugoimport SDPR" on July 29 for about 3m EUR worth of investment in refurbishment of "Krušik's" forge, which had been destroyed during NATO bombing in spring 1999.
Holding "Krušik" has received the certificate for integrated system management and, thus, resumed application of unique policy of quality and created preconditions for operations according to the highest international standards.
"Krušik" is the first military factory in Serbia to introduce integrated management in fields of quality, environment protection and health and safety of workers in 2009, while ISO quality standard was introduced earlier.
