Aer Lingus launches Apple Pay in cooperation with Serbian company's branch – New mobile app payment method

As the press release reads, with 50% growth in Aer Lingus mobile app channels over the past year, the airline is now able to offer customers the convenience of frictionless and secure payments in euro, sterling and dollars.
– Apple Pay works by connecting directly to your designated bank account, allowing you to make secure in app payments either by using facial recognition or touch ID.
The Apple Pay solution was delivered as part of Aer Lingus’ new Payments Hub platform in partnership with its technology partner Voyego, the dedicated travel division of the Comtrade Group, the company says in its press release.
Dave O’Donovan, Director of Digital and Mobile Technologies at Aer Lingus said that it was another convenient and secure way to pay for flights.
– This latest innovation also comes shortly after the launch of our new AerCredit card, which was jointly offered with Bank of Ireland, with great offers exclusively available to our customers – O'Donovan added.
