Tender sale of Tobacco Industry Bujanovac postponed

- The Privatization Agency has canceled the second tender for sale of 57.2% of capital of Bujanovac-based tobacco production and refining company DIB - said CEO Bogoljub Tomić.

He said that the Management of DIB had suggested to the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development that the company should stay the property of the state because it was in best interest of the citizens in the south of Serbia.

- Workers are not against privatization, but they do not want the company to be sold at any price, especially when we know that tobacco foil from Bujanovac is in great demand on almost all continents - said Tomić.

The only tobacco foil factory in the Balkans and Southeast Europe has 150 workers whose average salary exceeds 380 EUR.
