Public debt of Serbia amounts to EUR 23.39 billion at end-March

The public debt of Serbia amounted to EUR 23.39 billion at the end of March 2019, which is 50.9% of the gross domestic product (GDP), the Ministry of Finance announced.


The public debt is nominally higher by EUR 240 million compared to the end of February, when it amounted to EUR 23.15 billion and when its share in the GDP amounted to 50.4%.

The lowest share of the public debts in the GDP was recorded in 2008, when it amounted to 28.3% of the GDP with the nominal amount of EUR 8.78 billion, whereas the biggest share (201.2%) was recorded in 2000.
