The Director General of "Ikarbus", Srećko Nijemčević, said today (July 24, 2009) that he had submitted the resignation because the new owner of the company - Russian "Avtodetal service" - had not provided jobs for that Belgrade-based bus factory.
- I submitted the resignation to the Administrative Board last night, and the Administrative Board accepted it - Nijemčević told Beta agency.
As he pointed out, he submitted the resignation because he realized that the development concept of "Ikarbus" has changed significantly ever since the new owner entered the factory.
Nijemčević said that the new owner had not fulfilled the obligations concerning 1.4m EUR worth of investments in Belgrade-based bus factory and social programme for workers, but he specified that the deadline for realization of social programme would expire in October 2009.
- The business plan, according to which 20 buses should have been sold in Serbian market and 315 in Russian market in 2009, while 115 buses should have been produced for Italian company "Bredmenarinibus", has not been fulfilled - said he.
As he specified, 19 buses have been delivered to Serbian market, while no buses have been delivered to Russia prior to July.
Nijemčević pointed out that that situation in "Ikarbus" was bad and that the workers had been on strike for 25 days because they had requested the payment of all late salaries, while the new owner and the management had not been able to satisfty their justified requests.
Former Director General of "Ikarbus" said that the Belgrade-based factory had had an excellent year with 300 sold buses and average salary of 480 EUR until the new owner had entered the factory in July 2008.
- The Administrative Board of "Ikarbus" has appointed Aleksandar Vićentić as the new Director General - said Nijemčević.
