Another 200 lay-offs in "U.S.Steel" starting August

Over 200 workers of Forge "U.S Steel" Serbia will be dismissed. The list with the names of workers who will be, most probably, laid off starting September will be made official at the end of July.

Although it was announced that between 150 and 250 workers will be dismissed, the exact number and names of surplus employees have not been specified yet.

- The number that is unofficially mentioned is 210. That number can be even bigger, but everything will be known on July 31st when the lists will be finished - the source from that company told "Novosti".

What is for sure is that those who gain the right on pension this year will get one third of average salary per year of work. The workers who gain right on pension in 2010 will get 250 EUR, while all others will get 300 EUR per year of work.

Those well-informed say that this is not going to the last rationalization. According to the estimates, there are another few hundred surplus workers in the factory.

Ever since Americans enter the company, over 2,000 employees have left the forge in three rounds of social programme, but they all left the factory on voluntary basis.
