Cheaper landline calls to mobile phones starting September

"Telekom Srbije" announced today (July 21, 2009) that the new landline telephony packages would be introduced in September, and that they would enable cheaper calls to mobile phones and free talks within the fixed network at nights and weekends.

As it was explained at the press conference, "leisure time" package will make it possible for the users to talk for free within the fixed telephony network between 10 PM and 8 AM and during the weekends, while monthly subscription fee will amount to maximum 100 RSD.

"Calls to mobile phones" package will make it possible for users to dial mobile phone numbers from fixed telephone at any time at the lowest tariff in the price list of "Telekom" for calls to mobile networks.

Monthly subscription fee for this package is not going to exceed 400 RSD.

According to the price list of "Telekom Srbije", one minute of talk between fixed network and mobile network costs 7.2 RSD with value added tax when tariff is cheaper, that is, every working day between 3 and 5 PM and 9 PM and 7 AM, as well as during the whole day on Sunday and national holidays, while higher price amounts to 10.75 RSD per minute.

The CEO of the Directorate for Commercial Affairs of "Telekom", Vladimir Lučić, said that "Telekom" had offered to its users to take 065 or 066 number that was the same as the number of their fixed telephones, with the discount on annual subscription and free talks between the fixed and mobile phones with the same number.

- That service can be used by 600,000 subscribers whose fixed telephone number has not already been taken by somebody else in 065 or 066 network. That information has already been sent to 200,000 users, while all others will receive it by the end of August - said Lučić.

"Telekom Srbije" has also introduced the possibility for users of "Mobile Telephony of Serbia" to receive the information on subscribers without calling 988, by sending SMS message at the price of 10 RSD.

The Marketing Manager, Jelena Stojanović, said that "Telekom Srbije" intended to offer that service to the users of other mobile networks in Serbia as well, but not before they agreed on that.
