Bottling factory "Terra production" in Inđija - winning solution by bureau "Dva studio"

"Dva studio" is this year's winner of "Trimo" award for architecture in category "Design of Industrial Facilities", and the awarded solution is the facility of company "Terra production" in Inđija's industrial zone. The bottling factory covers the area of 5,000 square meters and it was finished in the period between 2006 and 2008. Architectural project and author's position about the facility are the works of architects Aleksandar Vuja and Slađana Milivojević. The plans for structure were drawn by Nikola Muravljov, while the contractor was company "Terra Engeneering".
- Facility "Terra Production" is situated in Inđija's industrial zone. The access junction is Inđija – Novi Sad–Belgrade highway. The location occupies 23,000 square meters, and its narrow side is facing the access junction. The facility is intended for filling tin cans with beer and juice. The basic facility, the bottling unit with accompanying contents, will occupy the surface of 5,300 square meters - people from "Dva studio" told "eKapija".
When it comes to industrial facilities, the working technology, which is, in this case, the tin can filling unit, is the key content, that is, the main served space. The premises intended for other contents - administration and storing - serve to main content, and that role determines their position in the spatial structure.
- Contextualization of the project represented a special challenge. Spatial context is, often, the last influential factor that draws the attention of architects when they work on such facilities. The looks of the facility is brought in accord with its physical surroundings, but the traces of technology that is present can be seen on the exterior. It comprises both architectural elements and elements of installations in their roughest form.
"Dva studio" is currently working on realization of two villas in Belgrade and on several other projects whose realization is in preparation.
