Road and bridge near Plandište opened for traffic

Ten-year-old Jelena Stojiljković from Plandište cut the ribbon on the bridge across the Moravica river yesterday (July 15, 2009), while the Minister of Infrastructure, Milutin Mrkonjić, was patiently holding the pillow with all the requisites.
The bridge across the Moravica, 70 meters long, cost 36m RSD, and it is a part of the new junction 3.9 km long, of which construction cost 298.5m RSD.
This junction will shorten the road between Vršački Ritovi and Margita, but it will also bridge "black spot", an old road with six U-turns that have been taking lives for decades.
After he apologized to the gathered citizens who had been waiting him for two hours at the temperature of 40 degrees, Minister Mrkonjić said that the Government of Serbia was not thinking only about Corridor 10, but that it also took care of the needs of local self-governments.
- Public company "Putevi Srbije" needs to take care of regional and main roads and its programme now includes the roads in Vojvodina. The Ministry of Infrastructure provides part of the funds and grants them to local self-governments for city junctions and smaller roads. That is how the things are going to be in the future as well - said Mrkonjić.
The investor of works on this junction was the municipality of Plandište, the co-investor was public company "Putevi Srbije", while the contractors were "Vojvodina put" from Pančevo and "Inter most" from Belgrade.
