Serbian finance minister Sinisa Mali has stated that he expects the Government of Serbia to adopt the lex specialis on credits in Swiss francs on Monday, April 15, after which it would be put before the National Assembly in a summary procedure.

– The draft law on the conversion of housing loans indexed in Swiss francs will, I expect, be adopted at the extraordinary session of the Government of Serbia on Monday. It will then be sent to the National Assembly in order to be adopted in a summary procedure by the end of next week – Mali said.

As the Ministry of Finance announced, he reminded that there had been intense negotiations with the debtors in the preceding days in order to find the best solution for this problem.

– We are looking for the best possible solution. After days of difficult negotiations, we are close to agreeing on the final form of the law, which should satisfy all the parties in this process – the debtors, the state and the banks – Mali pointed out.

He expressed his conviction that all the parties will be satisfied with the proposed solution.

The minister also pointed out that there was enough money in the fully stable state budget to enable this solution.
