4G network permits given out in B&H – Sarajevo first to get faster internet

– In the upcoming year, more than 60% of the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina will be covered by 4G networks. In the next five years, it will be 90% of the territory. In the upcoming months, citizens and business will be presented with the advantages of the 4G network. According to the latest analyses, the download and upload speeds will be 7 or 8 times higher – said Denis Zvizdic, the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Zvizdic said that Sarajevo would be the first city to use 4G, followed by Mostar, and then all the other populated areas in B&H.
The commercialization of the 4G service will begin on May 8, 2019, as there are requirement telecoms need to meet. The operators must cover at least 90% of the B&H territory and 98% of all the key routes in the country.
As permit carriers, the telecoms must also pay a fee of BAM 17.5 million (EUR 8.75 million) to the budget of B&H institutions in five equal installments in the period from 2019 till 2023.
