The Privatization Agency announced today (July 10, 2009) no bids had been submitted in the extended deadline for procurement of real estates of Jagodina-based Cable Industry in restructuring, so that the tender had been declared as unsuccessful.
That was the fourth tender for sale of Cable Industry, announced in April 2009, and not one copy of tender documentation was purchased.
The property of that holding, with accompanying equipment, was offered for sale at the minimum price of 28.9m EUR. The new owner would be obliged to maintain production of insulated wires for 10 years, as well as to invest minimum 10.2m EUR in modernization of production within the next three years and 1.3m EUR in environment protection.
Cable Industry in Jagodina is the largest manufacturer of cables and cable equipment in the Balkans. Mother factory of power cables, the new factory for production of telecommunication and optical cables and lacquer-wire, factory "Elmos", factory of cable equipment "Dragocvet" and series of other facilities were offered for sale.
Total surface of the facilities is 180,000 square meters, while the surface of the land, most of which is situated alongside the highway and Belgrade-Niš railway, is about 100 ha.
