Projects in Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina to get 3.24m EUR - invitation for cross-border cooperation

- European Union has set aside 3.24m EUR for cross-border cooperation projects between Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina - the Ministry of Finance of Serbia announced.
The Ministry of Finance of Serbia and the Directorate for European Integrations of Bosnia and Herzegovina have announced the first invitation for submission of draft projects, which lasts until October 6, 2010, and projects will be financed from the pre-accession funds of European Union (IPA) for year 2007 and 2008.
The cross-border cooperation projects can be focused on the regions of Srem, Mačva, Kolubara and Zlatibor in Serbia and the Sarajevo region and the Northeast region in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The value of donation ranges between 20,000 and 30,000 EUR, and the projects can last between six months and two years.
The aim of the programme is to connect people, communities and economies of the border regions in Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as to improve competitiveness of the economy and cultural and natural resources and cooperation between expert public and civil society.

Informative meetings dedicated to cross-border cooperation projects will be held on July 15 in Valjevo, on July 16 in Loznica, and on July 17 on Zlatibor mountain.
