National referential laboratory for air in Belgrade to be finished on July 15th


- Construction of the first national referential laboratory for air quality will be finished on July 15th. Equipping activities will be carried out in October, as well as training of personnel who will be able, at the end of the year, to analyze the samples from 30 automatic measuring stations throughout Serbia by means of state-of-the-arts equipment - Momčilo Živković, the CEO of the Environment Protection Agency, told "Novosti".
National referential laboratory is situated in Belgrade, on the grounds of the Environment Protection Agency, and it will be equipped with two ionic chromatographs, one gas and liquid chromatograph and one automatic spectro-photometer.
This laboratory will employ ten chemical analysts. Total of 1.4m EUR will be invested in it, 600,000 EUR of which will be donated by EU, while the construction of the facility was financed from the budget funds and the funds of the Environment Protection Fund.
