700m RSD for production and refurbishment of railway cars in Kraljevo

- Eight factories that produce vehicles for passenger and freight transportation will receive 2.1 billion RSD from the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development for production and refurbishment of railway cars - Jovan Nešović from G17 Plus said yesterday (July 7, 2009).

Nešović told Beta agency that the Factory of Railway Cars in Kraljevo would receive 700m RSD for production of new freight cars and overhaul of the old ones.

- Thanks to its technological potential, the Factory of Railway Cars can relatively quickly produce and repair cars, and it is likely that the production will start before August 1st, 2009 - Nešović pointed out.

According to his words, the Factory of Railway Cars, the Ministry of Economy and public company "Serbian Railways" should soon sign the contract on production of cars for "Serbian Railways".

He added that about 900 workers of the Factory of Railway Cars who had been on paid leave for 45 days would be returned to the production halls as soon as the contract was signed.

- To employ 900 people is important for both city and the company because there are over 14,000 unemployed people in Kraljevo, and that will be the first step towards economic stabilization of the city - said Nešović.

The President of Industrial trade union of the Factory of Railway Cars, Miodrag Ćirković, said that the employer must also organize production after that job was done.

The Factory of Railway Cars in Kraljevo has been privatized by Ukranian company "Azov Impex".
