Belgrade-Dubrovnik flights reintroduced

Serbian airliner "Jat Airways" introduced seasonal flights from Belgrade to Dubrovnik today (July 2nd, 2009), after 18 years of break.

A group of journalists from Serbia took the first 70-minute Belgrade-Dubrovnik flight today (July 2nd, 2009). Airplane ATR 72 with 66 seats was full since there were also other passengers in it.

"Jat" plans to fly from Belgrade to Dubrovnik by the end of August, twice a week - on Monday morning and Thursday afternoon.

The price of one-way ticket with all taxes amounts to minimum 86 EUR, while the return ticket costs 152 EUR.

Dubrovnik is the second destination of "Jat Airways" in Croatia, after Pula, the flights to which were introduced last year, during the summer tourist season.

Air traffic between Belgrade and Dubrovnik was discontinued on August 6th, 1991, because of the war.

The first flight between Dubrovnik and Belgrade took place in mid-1936 when the air transportation company of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, "Aeroput", introduced Belgrade-Sarajevo-Dubrovnik line.
