The Vice President of Slovenian Business Club, Dmitar Polovina, estimated that Slovenia, as a member of European Union, and its rich experience could help Serbia a lot in its efforts to join EU.

- Slovenia represents Serbia’s ticket for entrance to the market of European Union, while Serbia is Slovenia’s ticket for the market of Russia and CEFTA countries – he said in the interview for Beta agency.

Polovina reminded that the presidents of Serbia and Slovenia, Boris Tadić and Danilo Tirk, had announced improvement of relations between the two countries at the meeting of the presidents of central European countries, which took place last weekend in Novi Sad. As he estimated, the new relations between the two countries will also lead to resolving of some political issues, such as social security, the question of succession of properties of former Yugoslav republics, as well as normalization of relations between Serbia and the province of Kosovo and Metohia.

Polovina also said that the most relevant issue at the moment was liberalization of visa regime, and he added that the solution to that problem would enable higher level of cooperation in the domains of economy and culture.

- Improvement of economic cooperation is, definitely, bidirectional. The arrival of Slovenian companies in Serbian market anticipates higher level of development in the fields they operate in, improvement of the management culture, more intensive transfer of knowledge, and many other things – said he.

The Vice President of Slovenian Business Club in Serbia, Dmitar Polovina, said that the other direction anticipated entrance of Serbia’s economy in European game, as well as growth of export, productivity and economic growth.

Slovenian Business Club gathers about 500 Slovenian companies in Serbia.
