New coins in circulation starting June 26

National Bank of Serbia (NBS) announced that it would put new coins of 1, 2 and 5 RSD, minted in 2009, in circulation on June 26, 2009.
According to the announcement, these coins are made of paktong and they will be used in payment operations and for replacement of minted coins of the same denomination with the symbol of "National Bank of Yugoslavia", which will be withdrawn from the market prior to December 31, 2009.
National Bank of Serbia will also put 500,000 minted coins of 10 and 20 RSD, made of paktong, in circulation tomorrow.
The coins of 10 RSD are decorated with the motives of the 25th Summer Universiade, which will be held in Belgrade, while the coins of 20 RSD have the image of scientist Milutin Milanković on them because of the 130th anniversary of his birthday.
