"Lufthansa" to increase price of tickets due to increase in price of oil - prices to rise by 3 EUR starting July 2nd

German airliner "Lufthansa" announced yesterday (June 24, 2009) that it would increase the prices of all tickets for local and international flights by 3 EUR on July 2nd because of the increase in price of oil in the world market.

The fee for fuel will be increased from 21 to 24 EUR. This change will be applied to the prices of all tickets bought after July 2nd.

"The price of crude oil has grown by over 50% since December 2008, which affects the purchase costs of Lufthansa", it is stated in the company's announcement.
