Belgrade’s Victor to be reconstructed soon – Fortress to be without its symbol for a period of time

The reconstruction of The Victor monument at the Belgrade Fortress will begin soon, Deputy Mayor of Belgrade Goran Vesic said on RTS.

As he pointed out, the decision was made to secure the money for the reconstruction of the monument, Beoinfo reports.

– The Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments of the City of Belgrade will do this job in the upcoming months – the deputy mayor pointed out.

Let us remind that the Institute opened a tendering procedure for the repair of the monument back in October.

Vesic also announced that the reconstruction of the Grand Staircase, leading up to the monument, would begin within the next month.

– Also, in March or early April, we will start reconstructing the Clock Tower – Vesic added.
