USAID helps improvement of System of market information of Serbian agricultural sector

The Ministry of Agriculture of Serbia and the US Agency for International Development (USAID) have started implementation of the project for improvement of the System of market information of Serbian agricultural sector (STIPS).
According to the announcement, the project will comprise 18 workshops for farmers and entrepreneurs on use of STIPS for improvement of investments and sales and on basic marketing principles.
The first workshop will be held on Friday and Saturday, June 12 and 13, in the Fruit Prodution Institute in Čačak.
The System of market information of Serbian agricultural sector (STIPS) is the system of regular collecting, processing and distribution of information on the market of agricultural and food products.
STIPS includes the information on the market of fruits and vegetables, livestock and cereals, as well as the latest information from the market of agricultural raw materials. Supervision of agricultural market is carried out in 18 centers in Serbia.
STIPS was put in operation in 2004, in association with the Ministry of Agriculture of Serbia and the US Ministry of Agriculture.
