Commencement of production of punto diesel in Kragujevac

Company "Fiat automobili Srbija" announced today (June 10, 2009) that production of diesel version of punto automobiles in Kragujevac would start before the end of June.

According to the company's announcement, there will be two versions of diesel punto classic 1.3 - "dynamic A/C" and "emotion" with ABS system, and the first automobiles will appear in the market at the beginning of July.

Both versions of punto from Kragujevac will be equipped with engine 1.3 multijet of 1,248 cubic centimeters and 70 horse powers.

The price of version "dinamik", with manual air-conditioning system, will be 10,499 EUR, without value added tax (VAT). Diesel punto "emotion" with complete additional equipment will cost 11,499 EUR, without VAT.

As people in company "Fiat automobili Srbija" pointed out, the subventions for procurement of punto with diesel engine are the same as the ones for exchange of old vehicles for new ones, as well as the ones for procurement of punto with gasoline engine.

The assembly-line production of "punto classic" vehicles, with gasoline engine, in Kragujevac-based factory "Zastava" officially started on March 30th.

The Agreement that was signed between the Government of Serbia and "Fiat" on January 30th in Torino anticipates production of minimum 15,000 automobiles in Kragujevac in 2009.
