New tender for DIB from Bujanovac - deadline for purchase of dossier expires on July 1st

The Privatization Agency has announced the new tender for sale of 57.8% of capital of Bujanovac-based tobacco refining and production company DIB.

The deadline for submission of requests for purchase of tender dossier is July 1st, while the obligatory bids and 50,000 EUR worth of banking guarantee should be submitted prior to July 17th.

All companies that deal with production of tobacco products or trade in tobacco and tobacco foil and registered incomes of over 15m EUR in 2008 can participate in the tender.

The only bid on the previous tender for sale of majority package of stocks of DIB was submitted by company "Philip Morris Participaticon", Dutch branch of multinational company "Philip Morris".

The bidder informed the Agency that he was unable to buy DIB because it had not received the decision from the Commission for protection of competition, which would unconditionally and permanently enable concentration.

Company "Philip Morris" owns Tobacco Industry Niš (DIN) in Serbia since year 2003.

DIB has 53 employees and the conditions annual production of 2,000 tons of tobacco foil and 1,000 tons of small-leaf tobacco of sort "jaka", but the production capacities are not exploited to the maximum.
