Oil explorations begin in Bar-Buljarica area

Under the agreement on the concession of the exploration and the production of oil and gas, signed between Montenegro and the Greek company Energean, the survey of the undersea area will begin in the next dozen days, and the boat for a 3D geophysical survey in blocks 30 and 26 arrives today, announced the Hydrocarbon Administration of Montenegro.

– The explorations will be carried out by the Norwegian company PGS, and the arrival of Ramform Titan, the boat which will carry out the 3D survey, as well as the accompanying boats Thor Freya and Sanco Sea Sea, is expected on Wednesday, February 6 – the press release says, as reported by RTCG.

Ramform Titan, as said, will not enter the Port of Bar, but be anchored roughly a mile away from the coast. The 338-km2 area between Bar and Buljarica will be explored.

The Hydrocarbon Administration expects the 3D geophysical survey in blocks 30 and 26 to begin on February 10 and to take eight days.

They note that all the measures of environmental protection and the monitoring of environmental parameters will be carried out, Tanjug reports.

The Hydrocarbon Administration reminds that the agreement with Energean was signed in March 2017, and that the exploration activities are carried out in line with the program for the First Exploration Period.
