EBRD invests 22m EUR in "Asseco SEE" - benefits for members of Serbia-based group

- European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) plans to invest 22m EUR in company "Asseco South Eastern Europe" (Asseco SEE) from Poland - people from Belgrade-based company "Pexim", which operates as a part of "Asseco SEE" said yesterday (June 3rd, 2009).
According to the announcement, EBRD will additionally capitalize "Asseco" with 15m EUR and, thus, become the owner of certain package of stocks. At the same time, it will grant a loan of 7m EUR to that company, with the repayment period of six years. EBRD's Board should approve of that investment prior to June 30th.
"Pexim" said that the funds approved by EBRD would enable acquisition of IT companies in the region and creation of strong, regional company, as well as that "Asseco" was expected to increase the number of clients and strengthen its position of leading supplier of IT solutions and services in the region.
Serbia-based members of "Asseco SEE" that will feel the advantages of the investment are "Antegra", "Cardinfo" and "Pexim".
"Asseco Southeastern Europe" deals with production of software, it has 900 employees, and all members of that group are either software companies or system integrators.
