The gambling industry in Serbia has directly contributed around EUR 140 million and indirectly more than EUR 500 million to the GDP of Serbia, which is around 1.45%, as shown by the data of the Association of Gambling Providers (AGP).

The director of the AGP, Rade Karan, said at a press conference that their member-companies covered around 60% of the gambling market and that around EUR 30 million had been paid to the state budget in 2018 in various fees and taxes under the Law on Gambling, adding that the amount exceeds EUR 60 million when other fiscal and parafiscal charges are taken into account.

Karan especially emphasized the fact that member-companies had managed to keep the number of employees in difficult operating conditions and even increase it by 2%, primarily with young IT experts.
