Big investment plans of Pirot-based "Tigar" - 1.6 billion RSD worth of investments prior to year 2011

- In its plan for the period 2009-2011, "Tigar" anticipates realization of 1.6 billion RSD worth of investments. The same amount of investments was mentioned in the plan for 2007-2008, while the value of investments whose realization is in progress amounted to 245m RSD at the end of March - Pirot-based "Tigar" announced today (June 2nd, 2009).

The investment activities directed to modernization of units and trading network, as well as development of brands, are financed from internal sources, the transaction with "Michelin" and long-term investment loans approved by international financial institutions and banks.

"Tigar" will also apply for subsidized investment loans of the Government of Serbia for certain number of investment projects in 2009.

"Tigar" plans to close old and open new units prior to year 2011, that is, to complete the footwear portfolio by July and the portfolio of technical tires until October, while the portfolio of recycled products should be completed prior to the end of year 2010. According to the plan, new chemical capacities should be opened in 2011.

Facing the effects of the global crisis, "Tigar" is focused on development of brand "Tigar", as well as brand "Century", which was procured from British manufacturer "Hunter" last year.

- By purchasing "Hunter" brand, we also bought both market and technology - Jelena Petković, the CEO of "Tigar", pointed out at the press conference.

The innovations in "Tigar" are the products under "Century" brand, which are primarily intended for export, new types of protective boots for Canadian market, fashion collection "Maniera" and stores "Bottega".

Kids footwear "Brolly" will be launched in October, and little boots will smell of the fruit they have in its pattern.

"Tigar", the holding with 17 dependent companies, two joint investments, two partnerships with local self-government and one agency, registered 5 billion RSD worth of incomes in 2008 and consolidated gross profit of 195m RSD.

In the first this year' quarter, "Tigar" registered incomes of 522.36m RSD and untaxed profit of 129m RSD, which is estimated as a satisfying result by people in the company.

The trading in stocks of "Tigar" on the Belgrade Stock Exchange commenced in May 2005, and they entered A Listing in April 2007. That security currently costs 691 RSD. Its maximum value of 1,564 RSD was registered in June 2008, while minimum value of 340 RSD was registered in March 2008.

At the end of May "Tigar" had 4,841 stockholders. The state is the owner of 34%, institutional investors own 36%, while 30% is in the possession of physical persons.
