The general director of the PE Srbijagas, Dusan Bajatovic, said that the construction of the pipeline through Serbia from the Bulgarian border to the Hungarian border should begin in March and that the works should be completed on December 15, 2019.

He said on TV Pink that everything was ready for the works to begin, but that they were waiting for the opinion of the Energy Community, which should be made in early February.

Bajatovic said that the first EUR 300 million had been secured and that everything was ready for the works to start so that the gas pipeline could be commissioned as soon as January 1, 2020.

– We can't do anything until we get an opinion from the Energy Community. Serbian companies will get a considerable part of this job, and producers have also been contacted in case we opt for an accelerated delivery – Bajatovic said.
