Twenty-five architectural teams in race for development of Sava Square

A total of 25 solutions were sent within the architectural contest for the development of the Sava Square, a public area in front of the former Main Railway Station building.

A jury of five will start examining the designs on January 18 and pronounce the winner and reveal its solution for the development of the square on the corner of Karadjordjeva and Travnicka streets on January 31.

The winning design will provide the basis for the preparation of the urban-technical and project documentation for the development and construction in this part of Belgrade Waterfront.

The contest had been announced for June, but opened only in November 2018, and some architects refused to participate, in protest for being given less than two months tor provide a design for such a big project, Politika writes.
