Bank of Moscow in "Zvezda"?

Former football player of "Crvena Zvezda", Vladan Lukić, who has been nominated for the President of that club by the veterans, told "Politika" that the Bank of Moscow in Belgrade was interested in cooperation with "Zvezda". Lukić and few of his closest associates from the "Group for Changes", which gathers Zvezda's former aces and players, met on Friday (May 22, 2009) with Vladimir Zečar, the President of the Executive Board of aforementioned bank, which would cover all the debts of "Zvezda" and, thus, remove the mortgage from the stadium of "Crvena zvezda".

– We informed Mr. Zečar on our activities and he likes the idea that "Zvezda" be run by its real fans. He pointed out that the Bank of Moscow was interested in becoming significant partner of "Zvezda". We are ready for serious negotiations, but I will be able to speak about the details one day after the election assembly, which will take place on May 26th. The best proof of the bank's credibility is the fact that one of its partners is Russian giant "Gazprom" – Vladan Lukić pointed out.

The Bank of Moscow in Belgrade, of which President of the Administrative Board is Andrej Borodin, entered the territory of Serbia in 2008, as the first Russian bank in the region and the first "greenfield" investment in the banking sector after seven years. Its founder is "Bank of Moscow”, one of the most successful banks in Russia, 44% of stocks of which are owned by the capital city of Russia.

There are only few days left until the new elections at "Marakana", and general impression is that the chances that Vladan Lukić will become the President are great. Lukić's group is very active and it took over the initiative for resolving of piled problems in sports and financial sectors after former President of "Zvezda", Den Tana, and complete administration resigned.

– After successful beginning of negotiations in the Bank of Moscow, I have been informed that I will have an opponent at the elections. I hear that the other candidate will be Dragoljub Lekić, a member of former administrative board and three-member commission that is authorized to run the club until the new management is appointed. I have nothing against my rival at the elections, and I would like to have another eight rivals – said Lukić.
