Free bus transport for all citizens of Jagodina from February

All citizens in the territory of Jagodina will be provided with free bus transport by early February 2019 at the latest.

– In the past 14 years, pupils, students and pensioners in Jagodina have been using bus transport services for free. From late January or early February 2019, all citizens of Jagodina will be provided with free bus transport – said the president of the Municipality of Jagodina, Dragan Markovic Palma.

He added that the users of the public transport in Jagodina will not need ID cards or monthly cards.

As said in the press release, Markovic said at the traditional New Year’s cocktail party that employees and employers from companies and institutions would benefit the most from free bus transport.

When asked how this is financially feasible, Markovic says that Jagodina is the only town in Serbia in which members of the town council do not have salaries, which makes for annual savings of RSD 18 million, and adds that there are other savings as well.
