Who will be owner of Belgrade’s dump Vinča in next 25 years ?

The dump in Vinča will get new owner on the international open competition in 2006. The new owner will have to have it organized and use it in accordance with the strict standard of EU for 25 years, which will be followed by its closing. The company that will recycle the trash of Belgrade for quarter of the century will continue to take care of it for few more years after it is closed. The value of the project ranges between €35m and €50m.
The most important thing to Belgrade at the moment is that the existing dump is rehabilitated and closed in order to have completely new dump opened on the same location. The new dump will have solutions to problem of wastewater treatment, drainage of gases that are result of decay of biological matters, harmless burning of medical waste. The unit for primary recycling will be built and special part will be set aside for keeping of bulky waste, such as refrigerators, ranges, TV sets, batteries...
The dump in Vinča is in use since 1977 and it daily processes 1,300 tons of waste.
