In the past two year, the 12-km section of the Y-branch has been completed, and another 12 km remain to be completed to Kelebija, in order for cargo traffic to be fully moved out of Subotica and to connect Corridor 10 with the Kelebija border crossing.
– Next year, we will complete another 12 kilometers and we have set aside RSD 1.4 billion from the budget of the Ministry of Transport, Construction and Infrastructure for 2019. I believe that the public call will be opened in January and that everything will go according to plan – said Minister Zorana Mihajlovic.
The minister emphasized that the bypass route was important not just for Subotica, but for the entire Serbia.
– Last year, we completed 6.5 kilometers. This year, we plan to finish 5.5 kilometers and 12 kilometers will thereby open for traffic. This bypass route, which connects the Kelebija border crossing and the industrial zone with Corridor 10 is important not just for Subotica, but for Serbia as well. Our goal is to create conditions for the arrival of new companies and the development of the entire country – Mihajlovic emphasized.
The construction of 12 kilometers of the bypass route around Subotica is worth RSD 1.1 billion, Mihajlovic's cabinet said.
