President of company "MK Group", Miodrag Kostiić,
and the Minister of Agriculture of Belarus, Semion B. Šapiro, spoke on May 8th
about expansion of operations and the investments of "MK Group" in
Belarus. The meeting in Belgrade was a part of the extension of bilateral
cooperation between the economies of the two countries, and it was occasioned
by the recently signed Agreement on free trade between Republic of Serbia and
Republic of Belarus.
- "MK Group" is one of very few Serbian companies that invest in
foreign countries. After we registered successful business results in Ukraine,
our plan is to invest in Belarus. Our aim, among the rest, is to enable better
export of our products to the market of Belarus, as well as to open our market
for the companies from Belarus - Miodrag Kostić, the President of "MK
Group", explained.
Belarus, the country that has the most stable and the highest economic growth on the whole territory of former Soviet Union, offers the possibility of promotion and the investments of Serbian economy in the region.
Significant event that preceded this one was the visit of the President of Belarus, Lukašenko, to Kopaonik mountain in March 2009, at the time of the Economic Forum. This meeting is, by the way, part of the official three-day visit of the Minister of Agriculture of Belarus, Semion B.Šapiro, to Serbia and extension of cooperation between company "MK Group" and businessmen and government officials from this country, which commenced last year, within the scope of preparations of "MK Group" for appearance in the London Stock Exchange.
