At the board meeting of the Social-Economic Council of Serbia, held on December 14, an agreement was signed between the Serbian Association of Employers, the Confederation of Autonomous Trade Unions of Serbia, and United Branch Unions “Nezavisnost”. The partners agreed to influence the further development of the social dialogue and cooperation in social and economic policies, especially the policy of employing young people.

The key points of this agreement, as noted in a press release by the Serbian Association of Employers, pertain to making joint efforts in including social partners in all phases of the creation and the implementation of employment policy on a national and a local level, beginning with strategic documents for the accession to the European Union.

The agreement is the result of project activities which aimed to strengthen cooperation and social dialogue in Serbia, and the CISU fund from within the program of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark provided great support. The Forum for International Cooperation, a non-governmental organization from Denmark dedicated to social development and the strengthening of inclusion, had the leading role in the implementation.

The implementation in Serbia is coordinated by the Initiative for Development and Cooperation (IDC). The achieved results and examples of good practice in the field of education and employment of the young in Denmark will be discussed in more detail at the conference which will be held in Belgrade on January 30, 2019.
