Belgrade to become center of investment events – Adria Hotel Forum on February 21-21, 2019, at Hotel Crowne Plaza

After being hosted in Zagreb for six years, the only international hotel-investment conference in the region, Adria Hotel Forum (AHF), will be organized on February 20-21, 2019, in Belgrade, at Hotel Crowne Plaza.

AHF is one of the five biggest conferences of this kind in Europe. It presents the latest trends in hotel investments and examines the current hotel industry topics. The conference is also very interesting to international investors, who attend it in order to learn about the possibilities of investing in the region. On the other hand, there has been a tourist boom in Serbia in the past 3-4 years, a door has been opened for foreign capital and numerous international brands are present in the county, all of which have contributed to the decision to organize the 2019 conference in Serbia.

– Serbia has given us a warm welcome and it seems to me that the AHF conference will be larger than ever – says the organizer of the conference, Marina Franolic.

– Each year, AHF gathers global investors and experts. In the past years, the forum has seen prominent names such as Christian Giraud, the vice president for the development in Europe at Accor Hotels & Resorts, Patrick Fitzgibbon, the vice president for the development in the EMEA region at Hilton Worldwide, and Kenneth Hatton, the president for the global development of the luxury brand Belmond.

The importance of this conference for Belgrade and Serbia is also shown by the fact that representatives of global hotel companies, consultants and ministers of several countries in the region, as well as investment funds Starwood Capital and Aina Hospitality, have confirmed attendance.

The topic of the seventh AHF conference is “Is the future bright?”, and it entails the questions of the potential new financial crisis in 2020, the bureaucracy that investors face in the countries of the region and other competing countries and what kind of projects investors focus on. Some of the topics are: who finances development projects in the region and under which conditions, how investments can be secured, how much hotel design influences the experience of guests, what the new lifestyle brands are and others.
