Licenses to foreign charter companies only for airport in Niš

The Civil Aviation Directorate of Serbia has granted licenses to Turkish charter airliners "Atlas" and "Pegazus" for Niš-Antalya-Niš flight, but they have not received the permits for flights from Belgrade.

Turkish “Sky Airlines”, which asked only for the license for flights from Belgrade, has been rejected.

People in the Directorate also say that it is customary that low-cost companies use smaller and cheaper airports, and that is why the airport in Niš has the chance to become specialized for these low-budget air transportation companies.

As far as Egyptian charter airliners "Lotus air" and "Air Kairo" are concerned, their requests have also been rejected, while the procedure for "Coral blue" and "Air Memfis" is still underway.

However, Tunisian company "Nuvel air" has got the license to fly to Belgrade thanks to the interstate agreement between Serbia and Tunis.

Granting of these licenses is not the solution to the problem of charter licenses for foreign companies.

Since Turkish companies have not obtained the licenses, Turkish aviation authorities have now firmly decided not to allow charter flights to Serbian airliner until the dispute is resolved. Just like the last week, "Jat Airways" has no permit for Saturday’s flight to Antalya.
