The Vice President of "Benetton" group, Alessandro Benetton, and the Mayor of Belgrade, Dragan Đilas, have opened the “Benetton” megastore in Kralja Petra Street in the presence of Italian Ambassador Alessandro Merola.
It is the company’s first megastore in the Balkan, and it is the result of 600,000 EUR worth of joint investment of “Benetton” and “Eurosalon”. The store is situated in the facility of “Eurosalon” whose owner, Branislav Stojaković, said that the “Sisley” products would also be sold in that facility.
Đilas greeted the opening of such facility in Belgrade and pointed out that Belgrade was the city of contradictions at the moment since both SOS stores for the poor and expensive stores were being opened in it.
- What is good is that 40 people will get jobs, the new profit will be made and the new tax will be collected for the poor – he added.
Benetton said that he had had the meeting with the President of Serbia, Boris Tadić, shortly before the store had been opened and that they had talked about global changes and the young people who were the future of the world.
Pointing out that he has been staying in Belgrade and Serbia for the first time, Benetton said that he was pleasantly surprised because he had learnt that the image of Serbia in foreign media was completely wrong.
"Benetton" megastore covers the surface of 1,000 square meters and it has five levels, the first three of which are dedicated to women’s clothing, while the remaining two are for kids. "Benetton" has total of 50 stores in Serbia, 30 of which are situated in Belgrade.
