The world’s most visited museum, Paris’ Louvre, has announced that the attendance in 2018 will be at an all-time high and that free evening visits will be introduced after New Year.

The museum expects the number of visitors in 2018 to reach ten million, exceeding the previous record of 9.7 million visitors in 2012, the management said.

After a drop in attendance was recorded in 2015 and 2016 due to terrorist attacks, the number of visits grew to 8.1 million in 2017.

Beginning with January 5, the museum will offer free evening visits each first Saturday in the month in order to attract as many visitors as possible.
