- "Gazpromneft" will invest 100m EUR in the Petroleum Industry of Serbia (NIS) in 2009, primarily in environmental standards - Dmitrij Mališev, the President of the Administrative Board of NIS, said today (April 24, 2009).
During the tour of the Temple of St. Sava in Belgrade, Mališev, as a member of Russian high delegation, repeated that the new Russian owner of NIS, "Gazpromneft", was determined to respect all the obligations from the sales contract and that it would work hard to revitalize that Serbian company, 51% of which is now owned by the Russian side.
When asked by the press why the Prime Minister of Russia, Vladimir Putin, had not attended the energy summit in Sofia and why the signing of the agreement on construction of gas pipeline had been postponed again, Mališev said that the Temple of St. Sava was not the place for such conversations and that those were the questions that should be set to the Prime Minister of Russia.
Mališev, who is also the adviser of the Director General of "Gazpromneft", said that that company would provide the funds for completion of works on the Temple of St. Sava as soon as the costs of the remaining works on that orthodox sanctity were determined.
