Government of Montenegro to start negotiations with company "Cubus Lux" about rental of Valdanos

- The Government of Montenegro is going to start negotiations about rental of former military holiday resort Valdanos with British company "Cubus Lux" – the Tender commission announced.

Russian-Montenegrin consortium “Mos City Group” was also a bidder on the tender for long-term rental of Valdanos Valdanos, but its offer was declared as “irregular”.

People from the Tender commission explained that the Russian-Montenegrin consortium had not submitted the banking guarantee for the bid, which means that “other requested terms from the tender dossier were not met as well”.

The British company has offered the fixed annual rental fee of 0.18 EUR per square meter and the investments worth 222.5m EUR.

Valdanos inlet is 4 km away from Ulcinj and it is offered for rent on period of 30 years, with the possibility of extension.

The surface of the continental part of the inlet is 346 ha, beach is 342 meters long and 11 meters wide, while the closed military holiday hostel at the inlet occupies 8,700 square meters of land.

The inlet is an underwater archeological location and the place with large number of olive trees.

At the suggestion of Gzim Hajdinage, the Mayor of Ulcinj, the Tender commission has decided to oblige potential investor to “accept the requests of local self-management and citizens of Ulcinj regarding the maintenance and use of olive trees in the location of Valdanos to the greatest possible extent”.
