Factory "Mladost" to cut prices of building blocks by 30%

The President of the Administrative Board of company "Mladost" from Leskovac, Miroljub Ristić, has announced that the company will cut the prices of blocks for building industry by 30% on April 22, 2009.

- We are alleviating the effects of the economic crisis in this way, although we do not feel it in our company - Ristić said at the press conference.

Ristić said that 28m tiles and another 40m other brick products had been produced in 2008 and that 40% of goods had been exported to the markets of Macedonia, Bulgaria, Romania, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Albania.

- During the first three months of this year, production and demand for products was at the same level as in year 2008. In one month we will know whether the crisis hit the building industry – Ristić pointed out.

He added that the major buyers were the owners of warehouses and private houses.

As he explained, the price of tiles was cut by 10% one month ago.

"Mladost", which has 350 workers in its units in Leskovac, Vlasotinac and Mala Plana, is one of the strongest enterprises in the south of Serbia. Total of 15m EUR was invested in modernization of production units.
