South Korean factory Essex Europe to start producing in Zrenjanin in late November

(From the laying of the foundation stone) The South Korean factory Essex Europe will most probably open by the end of November, Mayor of Zrenjanin Cedomir Janjic stated at the meeting held on November 13 at the premises of the Regional Chamber of Commerce of Zrenjanin.

Essex a South Korean company which produces copper wires for transformers, engines and generators, announced earlier that it would most probably officially open its production facilities on November 29.

Let us remind that this new investment in the industrial zone Southeast in Zrenjanin was realized in a short amount of time. On March 14, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, the provincial prime minister, Igor Mirovic, Mayor Janjic and the chairman of LS Group, Christopher Koo, symbolically raised a wall, marking the beginning of the construction of the factory. In the meantime, the construction of production facilities on an area of 15,000 m2 has been completed and the workers have been hired and trained, so everything is ready for the beginning of the realization of the investment of more than EUR 30 million.

Janjic pointed out that the laying of the foundation stone for the biggest greenfield investment in Serbia, the construction of China’s Linglong tire factory, would follow in March 2019.

– This is an investment worth a billion dollars and the property alone will cost EUR 250 million. The indoor area will amount to as many as 65 hectares, and another three investors will arrive as well, the company’s subcontractors. We are completing the negotiations with another two Italian companies about their investments in our industrial zones and these are good news for Zrenjanin and its economy, but also for the economy of Serbia – Janjic said.
