Montenegro to start negotiations with Croatia about construction of highway between Bar and Serbian border

Concession for construction of the highway between Bar and the border with Serbia will, almost most certainly, be granted to Croatia because Split-based company "Konstruktor" has given the best offer for that job.
The decision of the Government of Montenegro about allotment of concession will be preceded by certain preparations of the Council for Highway Construction.
According to the people from the Council for Highway Construction, the draft concession contract is ready and, after the Government adopts the final version, the negotiations with Croatian consortium "Konstruktor" will begin.
That consortium is the first-ranked on the list of bidders for construction of highway between Bar and the border with Serbia, 170 km long.
The deadline for complaints about the rank-list of bids for construction of the highway, which was announced recently, expired on April 1st, and the conditions have been created for the negotiations with "Konstruktur".
The Split-based consortium is the first out of six bidders on the rank-list because it has offered to build the highway for 2.77 billion EUR, while Montenegro should set aside about 1 billion EUR.
The Montenegrin Minister of Transportation and Maritime Affairs, Andrija Lompar, said in mid-March that the contract on construction of the highway could be signed in six months at the latest.
