After Italian factory "Fiat", another automobile manufacturer, this time from the Near East, may come to Serbia. It is company "Saipa" from Iran, which expressed its willingness to invest in construction and equipping of automobile factory in Gadžin Han near Niš.
- The representatives of this company were very interested in entering Serbia. We spoke to Jafer Moalnamzadah, the CEO of “Industrial export development”. Corporation "Saipa" is a part of that system. It was, actually, our second conversation on that issue because the delegation of Regional Chamber of Commerce of Niš was staying in Iran in August 2008 and that is where we talked about automobile factory – says Branislav Mihajlović, the CEO of company "Resor" from Gadžin Han, who was one of the members of our delegation of entrepreneurs whose stay in Teheran in February was organized by the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia and the Ministry of Economy.
As Mihajlović points out, Iranians already know that the land for construction of such factory in Gadžin Han would be cheap. The automobiles from Gadžin Han would be much cheaper than the ones that can be bought in Serbia at the moment. The basic model of automobile of make "saipa 132", which would be produced in Serbia, costs about 4,000 USD (about 3,100 EUR) in Iran. That means that its price in our country could not exceed 3,500 EUR, including all taxes and fees.
Korean origin
- Model "saipa 132" has 1,300 cc, up-to-date equipment and minimum consumption. It was designed by the technology that Iranians bought from South Korea, that is, from the manufacturer of "kia" automobiles – Mihajlović explains.
