The Japanese finance construction of road bridge that connects Karaburma and Krnjača, €95m

Belgrade should obtain another bridge across the Danube in few years. The bridge is supposed to connect Belgrade’s settlement Karaburma on the right side and Krnjača on the left side.
Recently, the agreement has been reached between head people of the Assembly of City of Belgrade and Japanese Government, i.e. JICA, Japanese Agency for International Aid on construction of bridge across the Danube.
The bridge should bridgee the river above the middle part of Ada Huja, about 2,500 meters downstream from Pančevo’s bridge.
According to preliminary solution, the length of the main part of the bridge should be 1,080 meters, whereas its width should be 24.2 meters. The length of access roads will amount to about 1,200 meters and the access bridges will be nearly 660 m long. Construction of the bridge should cost, according to the City manager Bojan Stanojević, about €95m.
The Japanese approved 40-year credit with grace period of up to ten years and low interest rates of 0.3 - 1.5%. The commencement of the works should take place in two or three years and the construction should last 33 months.
