Value of Serbia's nation brand grows by 17% to USD 40 billion

Serbia's nation brand has been evaluated at USD 40 billion, up by 17% compared to last year's USD 34 billion, according to the latest Nation Brands 2018 report published by the branded business valuation and strategy consultancy Brand Finance.

Serbia has thereby climbed up one spot compared to 2017 and took the 80th place on the new list of countries valued as nation brands.

At the same time, the rating of Serbia's nation brand has been kept at A, says the report sent to Tanjug.

According to the report, the top 100 list includes 14 CEE countries, with Poland's nation brand being the most valuable in that region, having jumped by 14% to RSD 654 billion.

Of the former Yugoslav republics, in addition to Serbia, only Slovenia and Croatia are on the list.

Slovenia has kept the 62nd spot, although its brand has grown by 29% to USD 82 billion, whereas Croatia takes the 77th spot with brand value of USD 42 billion.

The report says that nine countries from the region are still “waiting in line”, including Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Albania, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova...

– The story of the region is obviously a story of growth – Konrad Jagodzinski of Brand Finance stated and added that CEE countries continued to attract investments and tourists from the rest of the Old Continent and other parts of the world.

The United States of America are still the most expensive national brand, far ahead of all the others, with brand value estimated at USD 25,899 billion.

China is second with brand value of USD 12,799 billion, whereas Germany is third with USD 5,147 billion.
