Unsuccessful tender for sale of Pančevo-based "Staklara"

The Privatization Agency announced on March 31st, 2009, that the tender for sale of Glass Industry Pančevo was unsuccessful because there had been no bids prior to the extended deadline.

That was the second tender for sale of the glassworks. The only bidder on the first tender, Greek company "Yioula Glassworks", gave up the signing of the contract.

Pančevo-based Glassworks is the only manufacturer of flat glass in Serbia, and it has the capacities for production of glass for automobile industry, special glass and medical packaging.

The factory, which has about 400 workers, owns facilities at total surface of 150,000 square meters. The company's capital has been estimated at about 17m EUR.
