First business forum of Serbia and Spain on October 23-24, 2018, in Belgrade

As the first step toward improving economic relations between Serbia and Spain, the Department of Trade of the Embassy of Spain in Belgrade and the Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade ICEX are organizing the Business Forum “Spain-Serbia” on October 23-24, the press release says.

On this occasion, Serbia will be visited by representatives of 21 Spanish companies from the sectors of infrastructure, environment, tourism, transport, construction, agriculture and food, textile and fashion industry.

The official delegation is headed by State Secretary for Trade Shiana Mendes, accompanied by other representatives of the Spanish Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism, as well as ICEX.

The forum will also include a range of conferences and panel-discussions, which will present the possibilities, advantages and challenges of doing business in Serbia, with a special focus on infrastructure, project financing and agricultural cooperatives in Serbia and Spain.

In addition to Spanish and Serbian companies, representatives of international finance institutions, local ministries and other public institutions are also expected to attend.

As stated, the great advantage of this forum is that it will enable companies from both countries to establish direct contact, and the estimate is that around 80 individual meetings between their representatives will be held.

With a GDP growth rate of 3.1% in 2017 and a constant economic growth for the fourth year in a row, Spain is one of the most dynamic economies in Europe, and the capacities of its companies worldwide are constantly growing, the press release says.
